“Dry Lacquer, Urushi” Katsuji Kamata exhibition

Mr. Kamada, who makes vessels in Noto using the dry lacquer technique, is a craftsman and creator born in Wajima, a region with a thousand-year tradition. After all, dry lacquer is a technique that can further develop the potential of lacquer because it can be freely shaped and has a different texture from that of wooden lacquer. We hope that this exhibition will inspire young lacquer craftsmen and further develop Wajima as a town of lacquer craftsmen.

Date: Friday, February 13 - Saturday, February 28, 2009 Venue: Gallery anima
