Tsugaru-nuri, a traditional lacquer technique developed mainly in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, is said to have a history of over 300 years and is known for its robust quality and unique colorful finish, known as "Kawari-nuri. Mr. Naoshi Kubo has been working to create a new traditional craft by taking advantage of this valuable traditional technique and applying it to a wide range of interior and architectural spaces with a modern sensibility.
