In the event "CROSSVISION" hosted by Interni Magazine, which celebrated its 70th anniversary this year, the exhibition "From a Thousand Years for the Future" was curated. This installation, which intersects "from the past to the future" and "tradition and innovation," connects a thousand years of Japanese traditional craftsmanship to the next millennium. The exhibition contemplates the future of Japanese craftsmanship and the timeliness of the artisans' skills, which have reached a high level of perfection over many years. It brings together the techniques and creativity of artisans from two regions in Japan, presenting works with a thousand-year history that continues uninterrupted in Japan. Kita suggests, "In the products created by artisans of ancient times, we can find the foundation of many high-quality items made with modern technology. Now, we need to think about what and how we can convey the techniques and ideas behind traditional craftsmanship to new generations."
In the cloister of the University of Milan, along with enlarged images, actual works and the lighting equipment "BIZEN ODATE" newly designed by Kita using Bizen pottery and Odate bentwood were exhibited.

For more than half a century, Kita has dedicated himself to traditional crafts. He believes that traditional crafts, which are made from materials born from nature and are eco-friendly from production to consumption, should not be regarded as old-fashioned but as eco-friendly materials that can be newly integrated into our lives.
