Since the Edo period (1603-1868), Odawara and Hakone marquetry has been loved by travelers crossing Hakone as a popular souvenir of the region.
This is an attempt to further develop the high quality sensibility of the region into a local brand by combining the craftsmanship and wisdom of generations of artisans and the challenge of the young craftsmen of today to create products of the near future on the world stage, transcending the several hundred years that have passed.
