In the early 1970s, when pasta pots were not yet in widespread use, the design was inspired by the thought, "How easy it would be if boiled pasta and vegetables could be taken out simply by pulling up the perforated core. This was the first pasta pot in the world to be successfully mass-produced, and since then it has helped popularize pasta pots in Italy, the home of pasta, and in households around the world.
