TSUGARU

TSUGARU

Tsugaru-nuri, said to have a tradition of over 300 years, is a traditional craft that takes advantage of the unique characteristics of the colored lacquer applied and honed over and over again to produce beautiful patterns and designs, which change over time as they are used longer and the colors and patterns change. Tableware that decorates the dining table, for example, has a unique and interesting quality that incorporates the techniques and time of lacquering.
