HIDAJI
During the Edo period (1603-1868), the tea ceremony flourished in Hida Takayama, which was under the control of the shogunate. Around 1968, when I came across Shunkei Nuri, which is a type of lacquerware that looks as if it was made yesterday, in Hida Takayama, I thought it would be possible to create a long-loved product with traditional techniques and design that could be used in the modern age. I started to work on the project, believing that I could make a long-loved product with the power of traditional techniques and design.
