異なる樹種の木材を自然のままの材質感や木の色を生かした寄木細工は、江戸時代末期に箱根町畑宿が発祥と云われ、小田原・箱根地方に250年以上伝承される伝統工芸。寄木細工を世界の様々なライフスタイルに合う、新しいものが必要とされていると、地元の研究所の要請で若い職人達とコラボレーションした最初の作品。

Marquetry, which uses different species of wood to bring out the natural texture and color of the wood, is a traditional craft that originated in Hatajuku, Hakone-cho in the late Edo period and has been handed down for over 250 years in the Odawara and Hakone regions. This is the first work created in collaboration with young craftsmen at the request of a local research institute, which recognized the need for a new type of marquetry work that fits various lifestyles around the world.
